Op Buuren, Maarssen
In the 'Bocht van Maarssen' along the Vecht River, a new residential area called ‘Op Buuren’ has been developed on the site of the former DSM grounds. LS4sale created a distinctive urban plan that centers on the typical Vecht-style character of the village and landscape. A unique aspect of this urban design is that a wide variety of architects, ranging from classical to contemporary, were invited to contribute, ensuring that every resident could find something to their liking. Although Op Buuren was built in one phase, the diversity of designs gives it the feel of a village that has grown organically over time. Liesbeth van der Pol was commissioned to create a contemporary interpretation of the 'townhouse' along the Vecht. The result is a series of beautifully sleek and nuanced buildings, featuring large glass surfaces in the façades. While the style does not directly mimic other buildings along the Vecht, the designs fit perfectly within the Vecht tradition of construction—modern, distinctive, and crafted with great care.
Situated in a unique location on the river bend, the design maximizes views and living comfort for the residents. This is expressed in refined floor plans and a balanced façade, with a stunning apartment in the center featuring a double-height terrace.
