The 'Amazons', Den Bosch
The ‘Amazons’, three elegant light residential towers, occupy a special place on the edge of Den Bosch’s historical centre and in beautiful park-like surroundings. The towers offer a magnificent view over the city, the lake 'the IJzeren Vrouw' and the park.
Dok architects won in 2000 this multifaceted assignment that called for the construction of high-rises on the former site of the HAS University of Applied Sciences. There was a great deal of resistance to high-rise construction generally in Den Bosch, which extended to this location as well. Following intense investigation and research, Dok came up with an excellent solution. The openness towards the lake from surrounding neighbourhoods has been expanded by the strategic positioning of the towers.
The façades of the ‘Amazons’ point firmly to the city and openly to the water. Each tower has 13 layers, each of which has three luxurious apartments to rent or buy. All dwellings are light, spacious and have high-quality finish. The delightful outdoor area provides a breathtaking view over Den Bosch. The towers have been profusely praised, by residents and people in the neighbourhood alike, endorsed by winning the 1st prize in the election of the most beautiful building in Den Bosch.
