Medical center Can Jove

Our design for the new medical center in Can Jove,
a new district located above Sitges near Sant Pere de Ribes in Spain.

The new medical center has been designed by Dok Architects in collaboration with Matters, who are responsible for the renovation of the existing Masia. On the ground floor, a function hall is connected to the restaurant located in the historic part of the complex.

The architecture of Can Fontanal, the existing Masia, has evolved organically over the years. Various extensions from different periods have resulted in a distinctive composition of sloping roof planes, combined with rendered facades and accents of green glazed tiles.

The design of the new building seeks a contemporary connection with the old Masia. A composition of different roof planes and volumes creates a balanced yet characterful design.

Carefully positioned circular openings, height accents, and corner windows establish a strong connection with the surrounding landscape.

The result is a recognizable and contemporary building that serves as the heart of the neighborhood while also creating a connection between the different parts of Can Jove.
